This workshop is jam-packed with all you need to know about accessing ANU systems and software, implementing IT security, maintaining privacy, and learning about the range of effective online collaboration tools to enhance your learning. Understand how to manage storage of research data and images, and how ANU uses various social media platforms to support learning and teaching.

Fern Hyde

Dr Fern Hyde is the Senior Manager, Academic Competencies and Digital Capabilities, where she leads the Academic Skills team. She has over 20 years of experience working in education, with expertise in language and literacy teaching and Teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL/D). She has taught in all levels of education from 3 year old children through to pre-service teachers to doctoral students, and delivered professional development. Fern's PhD was in Education from the University of Canberra. Prior to joining ANU in December 2023, Fern led the Researcher Development program at UC, including convening PhD course work unit 'Practice of Research'.
