Introduction to StoryMaps (GIS103)

Introduction to StoryMaps (GIS103) In-Person

Learn to use Story Maps, an easy-to-use story telling tool which allows you to weave a compelling narrative and share it with your audience. This training does not require knowledge or use of GIS software.

What: Over 4 x 2-hour sessions, you will use well-designed layouts to develop a Story Map based on your own research. Explore the potential of Story Maps as a tool for research communication; design and assemble your story; use Express Maps to provide spatial context for your research; and learn to promote your Story Map once it is created. This course will give you an effective and visually appealing way to communicate your research impact to governments, funding agencies, and the public.

When: In-person lab sessions run at 2pm – 4pm on 14, 21, and 28 August, and 4 September 2024.

Participation in all sessions is required for this course. By registering for this event, we assume your attendance for all 4 weeks.
