GIS401: Introduction to GIS Analysis for Research In-Person

Introduction to GIS Analysis for Research introduces a range of core analytic and spatial skills for research. Participants are taught core skills through a series of online lectures, and then apply this knowledge in hands-on labs that employ simple tools and approaches for analysis in Esri’s ArcGIS Pro.

What: This course comprises 4 x 2hr weekly modules that introduce a range of core analytic and spatial skills for humanities research. Having completed this course, you will be able to assess proximity, count the number of features in an area, summarise and map census data, and use network analysis to calculate distances along roads.

When: In person sessions will run 9, 16, 23, and 30 May at 10am – 12pm

Software requirements: Personal Device with ArcGIS Pro installed.
There will be a limited number of university PCs available during the lab sessions.
